Saturday Night Shenanigans…
Every Saturday night was a lively affair at Bill and Eileen's house. They loved to entertain their friends, especially Kay and Bromley, who were regular guests. The evening would start with a delicious dinner prepared by Eileen, followed by a friendly game of cards or Domino's.
One of the highlights of these evenings was the presence of Bill's amorous cockatiels. These birds had a penchant for perching on top of the refrigerator and displaying their affection in full view of the guests. Their antics never failed to bring laughter and amusement to the group.
However, the real entertainment often came from Eileen's kitchen adventures. Eileen had a habit of hanging kitchen towels on the oven door. Unfortunately, she sometimes forgot to remove them before turning on the oven to finish off her biscuits. This forgetfulness led to several incidents where the towels caught fire, resulting in billowing smoke and a bit of chaos in the kitchen.
Despite these mishaps, Bromley always found humor in the situation. He would jokingly ask Kay if they could go back to Bill and Eileen's for another "fire show," with a side of birds and bees, but just the birds. The laughter that followed these incidents made them memorable and added to the warm, welcoming atmosphere of Bill and Eileen's home.
For Kay, Bromley, and all their friends, visiting Bill and Eileen's house was always a good time. It was a place where they could relax, enjoy good food, and share plenty of laughs. These Saturday night gatherings became cherished memories, filled with love, laughter, and the occasional kitchen towel fire.
