The Hawaiian Breeze…
In our families history there's the unforgettable tale of the Hawaiian cruise. My mom, along with her friends Carlyn and Kay, my cousin Linda, and my sister Christine, embarked on this tropical adventure. The trip was filled with funny moments, starting with them nearly missing their flight. Christine, being the youngest and the quickest, had to drag the three others through the airport. To add to the chaos, she was pushing my cousin Linda, who was an amputee, in a wheelchair while carrying Linda's spare leg over her shoulder. It must have been quite a sight!
But the funniest moment came during their formal night. They were all dressed to the nines in beautiful long dresses, ready for an elegant dinner. They walked along the upper deck, captivated by the beautiful views of the ocean and the sun setting over the gorgeous Hawaiian islands. The approached the elegant dining room, with floor-to-ceiling windows show casing the stunning views for all the diners seated at the tables. A big gust of wind suddenly swept up my mother's dress, flipping it over her head and exposing her lady parts to all the diners who were only expecting a delicious meal, but got a show as a bonus! She finally managed to get her dress back in place and continued to walk into the restaurant, maintaining her composure.
Christine, Carlyn, Kay and Linda were laughing so hard that they could hardly contain themselves! Once inside the dining room, one of the diners who had witnessed the incident from inside greeted them with a smirk, "It's so nice to see ALL of you again." My mother, probably a bit embarrassed but ever so graceful, smiled back and replied, "Yes, it's nice to see me, isn't it?" She then went to her table to enjoy a lovely dinner with the giggling ladies!
My mom always took things in stride, even if her stride involved a scene out of a Marilyn Monroe’s Seven Year Itch!
