Finding Love After Heartbreak: My Journey to Happily Ever After…

After 20 years of marriage to a man who didn't appreciate me and treated me poorly, I found myself facing a difficult decision: to stay in a loveless marriage or to find the courage to start over. Despite the hardships, I wouldn't trade that time because it gave me two beautiful daughters whom I love more than anything.

However, after the divorce, I was alone for almost 5 years. During that time, I had to rediscover myself, find my own independence, and become financially supportive to take care of myself and my daughters. It was a challenging period, but it also taught me a lot about strength and resilience.

Despite finding my independence, I was lonely and longed to love someone again. I decided to venture into the world of online dating, joining several dating sites in the hopes of finding my soulmate. However, the journey was not without its challenges. I encountered several Mr. Wrongs, from strange men sending me bizarre messages to meeting a man who turned out to be a ex convict with outlandish ideas about aliens in our government, and not illegal kind, the E.T. kind!

One memorable experience was when I met a man online who seemed nice during our chat. However, when we met in person, he revealed that he was a ex convict who had also forgotten his wallet. To my surprise, he had brought his own peanut butter and jelly sandwich and an Arizona tea in his cargo pants. While the encounter was certainly unexpected, it taught me to approach online dating with caution and humor.

After these experiences, I decided to take a step back from online dating and reassess my approach. I then joined eHarmony, where I met my current husband. He is everything I could have hoped for and more - thoughtful, generous, and helpful to a fault. Through him, I have learned that love is truly out there, and while you may have to kiss a few toads along the way, eventually, you will find your One.

My journey to finding love after heartbreak has been filled with ups and downs, but I wouldn't change a thing. It has taught me the importance of self-love, resilience, and never giving up on finding true happiness. So to anyone out there on a similar journey, remember, love is worth the wait, and your One is out there waiting for you too.
