Secrets Swept Under the Rug…
When Christine was about 5, she received a toy cleaning set with a little broom and dust pan. Eileen tried to maintain a tidy house all while raising four daughters born between 1955 and 1960, the kids were all trained to pick up after themselves. She definitely had her hands full with raising the girls, maintaining the home, preparing meals and all the tasks she needed to complete each day, she may have come up with some shortcuts!
One day during a visit with Grandmother Louise, Christine proudly showed off her new toy. She began to sweep the floor, making a small pile of dirt. As she swept dirt into a pile, instead of using the dustpan, she cleverly lifted a corner of the carpet and swept the dirt underneath. Christine managed to unveil a surprising cleaning technique.
Grandmother Louise raised an eyebrow and turned to Eileen, commenting, “I wonder where she learned that from? Hmmm?” Eileen just shrugged, smirked, and replied, “I have no earthly idea!” It seemed Christine had discovered a secret shortcut, much to everyone's amusement.
